How many spares do you really need?

Free spare parts calculator. Enter your equipment parts list, get optimized stocking quantities backed by statistical modeling – not gut feel.

How It Works

The Problem

Most facilities determine spare parts inventory through vendor recommendations or experience. This leads to two expensive outcomes: stockouts that trigger emergency procurement at 6-8x standard shipping costs, or overstocked shelves tying up capital in parts that expire unused. MRO holding costs alone run 20-30% of inventory value annually.

The Approach

SpareMind uses a statistical model that accounts for your fleet size, failure rates, procurement lead times, part criticality, system redundancy, shelf life, and cost impact to calculate recommended stocking quantities.

Where you don't provide data (cost, lead time, criticality, failure rate), the system estimates values based on part type and manufacturer. You can always override any estimate with your own numbers.

Equipment Configuration

Tell us about your equipment fleet. These parameters scale the spare quantities.

Criticality Guide

When entering parts below, assign a criticality level – or leave it on "Auto" and the system will estimate it from the part description.

A

Critical

Equipment stops without this part. No workaround. Examples: compressors, PLCs, control boards, VFDs, protective relays, hydraulic pumps.

B

Essential

Equipment runs in degraded mode or a manual workaround exists. Examples: sensors, fans, contactors, breakers, communication modules.

C

Desirable

Readily available or non-essential. No immediate operational impact. Examples: filters, gaskets, fuses, terminals, labels, lubricants.

Parts List

Add up to 5 parts. The more detail you provide, the better the estimates.

Works for Any Industry

If you have equipment with parts that fail, SpareMind calculates how many spares to keep on hand.
